Best track in the US! I always thank God every time I make thru the kink in one piece...

Your lines through most of the corners were much better than most of the cars in front of you!!

Sly was frustrated in pca de. Her first race is at summit point at end of september.
Grady bent a wheel and retired from enduro.
Needing gas I pitted during double yellow and lost a lap because had to pit again since mandatory 5 minute stop only counts during green flag. Then with 5 minutes to go vbox said I was doing a 22 so I pushed harder and lost it in 14 spun then engine laying down so limped to checkered.
Had fun though.

It was a lot of fun, it was great seeing everybody again.
Really miss going to the track.

DE or racing its always all fun.
Don't care much either way.

I ran with the other guys, so did not embarrass myself driving wise in the relic, although as always I need more time than most to get up to speed
I get there eventually and I'm sure I would have found a couple of seconds on Monday like others, also because it was cold.

I still would have been a few seconds off the fast guys, an eternity on a 14 corner track and with not much race raft it would take a while to win anything.

Right.
As you said I hope some people actually watched the last few laps of the seconds race. Looked like 3 drunks driving rental go cars with lots of agricultural excursions :-)

I kept it nice and clean of course.

4 Accumoto cars in one shot..

WORLD FAMOUS TRAKCAR racing at Road America.
He is just so happy to be at the track again after more than 6 months.
Kinda looks like a St Bernard trying to climb through the cat door.

Sprint Race 1, qualified second behind Dan Clarke (2006/7 Champ Car and 2010 Indy Lights driver) in a Cayman. Seems Road America is his best track:

[In 2006] Clarke won the Bridgestone Pole Position award at Road America, Wisconsin. The first rookie to do so since 2003 and the first British Rookie since Nigel Mansell in 1993. Clarke experienced misfortune towards the end of the season that would see him forced to settle for 'Rookie runner-up' to Will Power after an intense battle between the two drivers.
He returned to the team for the 2007 season, now named Minardi Team USA, joined by new teammate and former Minardi F1 driver Robert Doornbos. Clarke had a troubled season finishing 13th in the overall standings and missing one race, at Zolder having been ejected from the event for causing a multi-car crash in practice. He did however record a second place at Road America.

I guess he was frustrated by my hp and lack of skill so he gave me the #1 sign. lol
Wish I had a rear view camera so you could see how up my butt he was.
Sorry for lousy video, didn't know camera was mounted sideways.

Obviously at Road America it is VERY difficult for a faster, but lower hp car to make a pass. In mixed class racing, which is the norm for PCA, you've got to remember that not everyone enjoys mixing it up with a car that is out of their class. Many drivers only consider the competition in their own class and every other car on track is simply traffic to negotiate around. For them the only finishing position that matters in the in class position. Other drivers, usually when there are few or no other cars in their class, will enjoy mixed class battles. Can't assume that though.

He must have felt that you were ruining his in-class race, and using your hp to keep a lower hp but faster car behind you. This prevented him from driving to his full potential and potentially allowed his in-class competition to stay closer than they would ordinarily have. He was looking for you to lift to allow him to get by so that he could continue with his in-class race and you could continue with yours.

Whenever I see an out of class car posting similar times to mine in practice or quali and know that we have been running close to one another on track, I usually try to talk to them before the race so that we can establish 'rules' - are we racing each other or not? Unless both agree, then you are not. If not, while I would not slow down and put my own in-class race in jeopardy, I find it good practice to let a faster out of class car go by so that I am not messing up whatever in class battle they may be having.

Just some helpful advice from someone who has been doing this a while and has had to get into the middle of driver disputes while serving as a race director. At this level of racing drivers have different on-track goals and we should be conscientious of that. 'Fauking with' out of class cars, perhaps harmless in a DE, will **** off racers who are having an in class race that you are not participating in.

Clarke, this is PCA Club Racing - you know this and you know its ethos.

Lead the way here, act the gentleman you are.
