Default Hotel recommendation @ Nurburgring?

There are lots of threads on car rentals (I think I settled on a prepped 125i) but not much on the best hotels. Any suggestions/recommendations? Just staying a single night.

If this is a bucket list trip you should stop by here for a beer and/or dinner.

Am Tiergarten. Sabine's family runs it. If you don't stay there, visit the restaurant. Nice place, there you can stay even with your wife.

Hotel An Der Nordschleife. Next to the Breidsheid Gate at Adenau, so excellent location. More for petrolheads.

Blaue Ecke. Never stayed there myself.

Stay in Rudesheim, take the small car ferry over at Bingen then drive on a road up the 'hill' that is as much fun as the Ring, this is where the Locals go for their kicks plus the village is awesome!

I have stayed there many times and its the BEST place and only a short and VERY enjoyable drive to the Ring. With the benefit its on the Rhine and is so pretty. The locals are very car and bike friendly!

See here: http://www.ruedesheim.de/en/

Yes, it is like every good business hotel, and has a good restaurant and large indoor parking. The atmosphere is rather cold though...

My choices would be:

1) Am Tiergarten + Pistenklause restaurant
2) Blau Ecke
3) Dorint

1st two are where all the petrolheads stay (if there is room) the only downside to Blau Ecke is that it is in "downtown" Adenau which is about a 10 min drive from the ring ...

+1 ... if for no other reason that to stare at all the memorabilia on the walls, but on a good night the craic (and beer) is brilliant!

Yes but you can walk to the Pisten klause in 10 minutes, best of both worlds.

but it takes a LOT longer to walk back ... also, and I guess this is a personal preference, I would rather give my money to locals than to Lindner who f**ked the whole ring situation up in the 1st place!
