if you want to do it, do it right.
oem or full hog.
A cheapskate like me does his own install as it isn't Rocket Science just pay for corner balance and align.

Full alignment and suspension setup with corner balance

Decided to go with what the guys here know and have a massive amount of experience with. They had several other cars in the shop with the same setup and 2 getting similar treatment. Went for a spin in a car with identical setup and for the street is was a night day difference to my mostly stock setup. Not harsh, but firm, in control and super connected.

Can't wait.

So, are you getting the Ohlins with the 700/1400 spring setup?

I ask this because when I was at VIR this year there was a shop trackside selling used Porsche parts and there was a set of Ohlin Springs for sale that I recognized immediately as the 700/1400 springs and the helpers - i'm guessing that whoever bought it sold these and went with different spring rates.

Have had Ohlins on another car and I loved them - just not sure about their spring choice that appeared on their gt3 setup

No, not that spring setup, the suspension guy orders different springs but unsure what, I'll check. I know he said they like less variance in the front/rear when they set these up, just can't remember which.

I think list I posted above has full hog except
Missing front bumpsteer links
No monoball camber plates/shock mounts
I think that's it
The reason why i left out compression links with bump steer for the front and rearon my suggestion list is due to the amount of tuning it requires to bump steer the car properly.
If you have a shop that knows RSR or Grand-am spec Cup cars then they know bump steer alignments as these parts are used in those series.

Most people do not bother with bump steer parts due to the complex nature of getting them set up properly.

Shop knows the parts and cars well. Said stock front bump steer arms are fine and the geometry is good with everything else they are doing. The rears they always do.

I know I didn't mention this earlier but the work is getting done at BBI. Betim and Joey have been fantastic.

What shocks/suspension did you go for?

I like KW V3 and Clubsport kits. Proven record world wide.

Ohlins. Suspension parts are all ERP, a couple tarett parts and inner links are porsche motorsports.

Holy crap does the car feel good. Just got back from a quick OC canyon run and a few freeway ramps. Car turns better, rides better, is more direct, positive, and confidence inspiring. Mid corner bumps that would make the back-end feel a little off now just get absorbed. Car is stiffer, slightly more than stock, but very nicely damped, nowhere near as jarring as the sport button option.

General question, about how many miles do the OEM struts last?

Regarding my experience, all the struts were fine mechanically. I said blown but really the electronics were not functioning right, the strut mechanically was fine. Given the low miles these cars are usually driven my guess is time is the enemy vs. wear.
