Default GT3 RS newbie question

Looking to buy a 997.1 GT3RS.

What kind of repairs/ issues can a new buyer expect when buying a used .1 RS assuming it has been maintained with regular fluid changes. Is there any "major" engine service that needs to be done that is unique to the GT3 / RS ? How much mileage is considered "high" given that the RS is more track than street oriented.

Thanks for any advice.

Look for any signs of a rear main seal or front main seal leak.
Minor rear main seal leaks are common and no big deal if really small just like a harley davidson.
Service records would be key.
Front main seal leak could possibly indicate other problems.

These cars run themselves. Tires, brakes and oil. No such thing as high street miles on a Mezger. They can run as long a toyota tercel.

On tracked cars you will find wear and tear items that can be replaced but if not replaced then price acordingly.

If it doesn't have the coolant fittings welded, plan on doing this as well...

Expect a pooched diff if it has been tracked with any regularity. Rebuild with Guard or something similar.

Echoing what was said above... I got my .1 RS last fall. I had the coolant joints pinned, which required an engine drop. While it was out, I had the rear main seal replaced, since it had a small leak and was readily accessible then. Nothing other than that...

Enjoy it!

It is a modern 911 turn-key hot rod. Not bad right out of the box. Add exhaust and you got a great 911 that will make you forget about other 911s past and present.

tcsracing1, you made mention of a front main seal leak could possibly indicate other problems. What does a small front main seal indicate? To be clear, by a front main seal we are talking the *** end (not the clutch end) of the car, correct?
