Does the '11 compound help with rotor cracking? I've never seen rotors crack as quickly or as badly as PFC rotors with 08 pads.

you've obviously never used 01's.....they make 08's look like RS29's.

08's really aren't that bad for the consistent performance they offer.

11's are the replacement for 01's
12's are the evolution of 08's
13's are even more aggressive than 11's (01's).

So 12's are the pad we will be interested in, but we have been told that 08's will continue to be sold until 12's are phased in.

Grady,
The 12 is going to replace the 08.....but it doesn't look like 08 is going anywhere anytime soon. Of the new compounds, 11, 12 and 13, they are only currently making the 11. NO news of when they will be making the 12.
All pads currently being made in 08 will continue into the future.
11 Compound is replacing the 01 and it has much better characteristics over the 01. Less heat to the rotor....and much longer life.
The 991 pads from PFC should be out shortly but will only be available in 11 compound.

I have run the '01s on my E90M3. Very little cracking iwth OEM cross cast rotors, relative to what I am seeing on the RS & PFC rotors. And, yes, I was driving the snot out of the M3 with hohos on it.

BMW's cast "drilled" rotors are the best in the business, IMO. Porsche's suck in comparison, as they lack the large bevelled edge. The OEM ZCP rear rotors I have on my E46 M3 still have no cracks and I've used them for years with really aggressive Raybestos ST43 pads (very similar to PFC01).

I have normal cracking on my front AP discs and OEM .2RS rotors from PFC08's, but nothing out of the ordinary. I also use less sticky tires, so that helps, but I think it's easy to forget just how incredibly well these cars stop when on sticky tires, and with good cooling (compared to a BMW), you can just keep pounding on them....so the rotors take a beating.

I often start my cool down laps just before the checker, this way I get two full laps, and that has seemed to be very helpful with rotor life.

Yes I have the PFCs to fit both Stoptech ST40 and ST60 calipers. PFC P/Ns are for ST40 0447.08.17.44
for ST60 7793.08.18.44. Both 08 compound. I can do the 7793.08.18.44 for $500 set (these were special order) and the 0447.08.17.44 would be $298. Free UPS Ground

Clark, any deals on a set of F&R PFC 08 for a 997.1 GT3 with steel brakes + endless fluid? Is the Rennlist+PCA discount still available?

Are they still making the 06? Is it available for RS models with slotted pfc rotors (380 mm)?

I really liked the 06, similar to the 01 but very easy on the rotors, lasted a long time, and very small difference in initial bite from the 01.
