Default 4.0 garage queen owners, this is for you

For the small group of you out there storing yours with delivery miles or close to that, if you have ever thought about selling, I am looking for one or two more for my collection. I will make it very simple - for a nicely optioned car, I will pay $80-100,000 over MSRP, no stories.

If you want to discuss yours, please call me at 248-388-1188 or email me at michaelkelter1@mac.com. Please do not PM me as I rarely check those. I also won't reply through this thread in order to maintain the appropriate confidentiality.

Thanks all,

Michael

The question is, will you have the car remain being a garage queen or will you take it out to the track?

I collect these. I drive each of mine occasionally on the street but not the track. So they will remain garage queens, which is why I am willing to pay so much for another.

Gotcha, good luck on your search. Definitely a great car to put in any collection.

Michael,
It is easier to collect watches. It takes up much less space.
We need a group pics of your collection.

Sounds like high priced beanie babies. I remember people paying stupid money for those too. Just a matter of time...

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Based on your reply, since I am willing to pay "stupid money", by default I must also be stupid, which I can live with. However, I would think that cars would then be materializing in quantity for sale, which clearly isn't the case, therefore sellers must not agree with you.

I never said you're stupid. Maybe foolish for "investing" in a modern production car with the expectation that it will hold It's a self induced frenzy. There's a small group of people that are still highly interested, for whatever reason. Maybe because it's the last of the metzger. The 4.0 was overpriced to begin with. When the frenzy dies and people move on to the next "limited edition" car, it's gonna be painful for those that paid way over sticker. A carrera GT is at least special as a one off. 4.0? Plain old GT3 with a hot engine.....

Interesting discussion.

Given the choice, would one rather be smart and poor, or stupid and rich?

I'm not saying anyone here is stupid. And BTW, a lot of people that you think is stupid may be just acting stupid; and most people that think they are smart are probably not.

Anyway, I don't know why I post this. But I'm sure of one thing - my 3.8 is an absolute bargain next to any 4.0.
