Good to know. I already got the "looks like your Porsche is broken" line from my friends. Weird thing is sometimes it is parked for a week and nothing, but sometimes it fills the garage with smoke even if parked just overnight. Anything I can do before parking it to make it not happen or is it just totally random?

Default Ditto here

Sometimes there is a ton of smoke; sometimes, none. Totally random.

Although I was told it would help, letting it idle for a minute before shut off does nothing to prevent it my experience.

^The manual does say to idle the engine for a min or two after hard running before turning the engine off. Not sure if it has anything to do with the smoking. But I guess it is a good practice either way.

In addition to the other comments here, ensure that the engine oil level is within the limits. Too much oil can cause this as well and it is not good for the engine.

Do a search using "smoke" and in title only, lots of remarks.

Porsche also threw in the Kenworth/school bus ceramic brakes as a freebie (only freebie they ever offered).

Mine (2007 RS) is a mild mosquito fogger most mornings. No big deal.

BIG PLUMES OF SMOKE on startup at the track. On the recommendation of LN Engineering, I shifted to 15W-50 Mobil 1 oil and the clouds went away.

I would say 15-50 is pretty thick specially for a car with hydraulic actuators.

The Mobil 15-50 is an excellent automotive oil, works well for superbikes (although not as good as Motul 300V), but unfortunately on cold mornings the tappet noise will terrify you to no end until it heats up enough to silence them. Tried it once, won't do it again.
