that is that bothers me as well now as even with those rudimentary back seats in the 997 I have I need something for kids to seat on properly, oldest one refuses to get into 997 now (in a back) so it effectively results with me not using my car at all and driving in old lexus or wife`s Honda which she refuses to give up. it drives me nuts.

Imo Audi really dropped the ball with the engine. It's more or less the same as the RS4 and 4.2 R8. They should've put a boosted V6/8 in it. The weight over the front end likely would have been less and they could have pumped the marketing machine as going back to their quattro roots.

If they brought back a RS4 Wagon, I would buy it today....getting bored of the E90M3.

Finally coming to the US? A neighbor has had one for about a year now.
Got excited thinking the OP might have meant RS4 - I, too, would buy one tomorrow to replace my long gone S4 (with MT) wagon.

Cash in hand I have been after my dealer and lobbying Audi for a year now to get a real wagon here...ie) RS4 or RS6 Wagon. But so far nothing...I even looked at using one of the NHTSA & EPA approved RI to bring one in but they quoted me around $20K and I am afraid making a Frankenstein...

I saw one yesterday near my house... SEXY..
Old Neighbor had an S5 and the rear seats were worthless...
It would be a toss up for me M3 or RS5

The car is pig fat heavy and if it's like my prior B7 RS4 it is a car with no soul.
The RS4 had ZERO heart as a sports car. Got tired of E46 M3's eating my lunch on straight line pulls.
The car is "pretty" but had no feel and was useless.
The acquisition was a total waste of money.

The S65 in the E90 is a wonderful motor on the track, but around town it's pretty annoying.

I have over 100k miles on my B7 RS4. It's a fantastic daily driver. Good performance, low key good looks, comfortable but bad mileage. The carbon build up issue is now a $250 clean up every ~25k miles. The car is not a track car. Nowhere near the performance, durability, excitement of GT3/RS. It is a pig of a car that under steers even with Stasis/Ohlin coilovers. It also eats pads, rotors, tires at a high rate.
