Update. New clutch. New pp (4.0). Even new slave cyl. When I drive the car hard on the track start to run into issues with gear changes. Lots of theories and could be syncros as others have suggested. But I think it (as has been also suggested) the disk assy is swelling with heat. I saw this because I need to be sure to press pedal *all* the way to floor when hot ... that plus slowing down shift just a little bit (200 ms) cures problem.

Very well may be my driving style incl needing to do a better job if matching up my revs on downshifts so disk doesn't get so hot. But I'll be looking into other clutch / pp designs too.

^^^mooty, I hope that was a typo- made me laugh out loud!!

'Grannies are like tires- they die' harsh but true, and they can look rubbery!!

Roland: I had the exact issues you have now. Balky or blocked 3-4 shifts and sometimes others. The tracks we drive there are a lot of side loads on the car in 3-4 gear shifts, like The Ridge and ORP. I was at my wits end as well, esp. after RS 4.0 PP and LWFW, Guard Diff, cup cables etc. Only thing left is engine mounts- went solid and wow what a difference. Shifting is so much better, not effortless, but way, way better. For example, my last time at June with the DEM I had to consciously slow my shifting and I still had a half dozen balky or blocked shifts in two days. Most recently this month at 98 degree temps with solid engine mounts absolutely not an issue at my normal (sometimes to quick) shifting at ORP with Porsche Train over two days. Based on our track speed (pretty close at The Ridge) I would say we are dynamically confusing our dynamic engine mounts. They just don't work at higher g-loads or fast transitions like they should. I have no other explanation for the dramatic difference.

I used the solid mounts from Rennline because PJ had them lying around. I would try any of the semisolid or solid that are available. Quick and easy fix, you will be amazed.

Oh yeah, I had my tranny re-geared at Rothsport and the only bad synchro was 1st ( I blame the original owner), 2nd was worn, but not bad and so 3rd was fine. Replaced them anyways but the balky shifting persisted until the solid engine mounts. On the street smooth as butter, on the track not quite, but good.

Well, I'm not sure since mine is showing an error. Since I upgraded my car to DEM, I know that it could be put back. I would guess you might need to remove the DEM controller and then disable with the Porsche computer thingy

Ummm, poll of 1- useless on the track with high G-loads or it wears out after some track use. With a trillion, billion transistors in the modern GT3 a few less and you don't even notice. Your antique has what 5 transistors without the radio?

randy's radio has no transistor, think vac tubes.

you dont want to know what's in pj's trailer. have you chk'd out the super long cool studs and glowing yellow nuts holding his new shiny BBS E88's.... they came from some crazy's garage down south.
