It may start off looking to be ~ the same as a DE but it A Lot more. One of the most $$ Items are constant fresh tires. because .3 - .6 sec is a lot. Race weekend even in a light balanced, square E36 is ~$3k.. You end up just pushing the car so hard that **** breaks.

I spend about $1.2k/weekend racing karts on big tracks. One weekend will consist of Friday practice (eight 12 minute sessions), and one race on Saturday and Sunday with two practice sessions on the race days. One set of tires for the weekend- $240, entry fees and practice fee- $330, fuel and oil ($120, 10 gallons plus 80 ounces of oil), hotel ($225@$75/day), gas and food to and from ($200). If I break anything that's amortized over the season, plus engine refresh/rebuilds @$500 complete every 10 hours on my yamaha or 25 hours on my TaG. The laydown can run three weekends on the same set of tires but the sprinter needs a new set every weekend, or stickers every race if I'm running for points and am serious about winning.
That is why I race karts. Far cheaper than racing cars and more competitive racing at high speeds only dedicated race cars can achieve while using far less power in machines that are uniquely American (the laydown kart) and sport specific.

That spin was scary! Lucky the wall did not come near you...glad for that!
What happened the next lap around? Was there a debris flag out on the straight?
