Regarding the 997 height mismatch issues, there's a thread on 6-speed where the guy comes back and says his PSM problem was found to be a bad MAF, and not the size mismatch as he had originally stated. That might be the source of some of the confusion.

It's the same. Give or take. One nice thing is they come with shallower tread depth than RA1 so no shaving. So you get better performance when they are brand new, but they equal out once you get to shaved RA1 tread depths. I believe nitto come as 5/32nd.
I think that they were too short for a 997 was just a rumor based on someone doing the math but not actually trying them in real life. Never had an issue. I don't have PSM though so someone with psm might have a different experience. I can get all sorts of tires to ice if I try hard enough. Including the 19's on supersports. If you're that deep in the abs you're probably doing something wrong anyway and need to re evaluate.

^ Did you happen to ask if his hats were rotated. Just did mine and now it looks like I could squeeze a lot more rubber in there. Trying to figure out what the widest I can go is.

For you GT3 997 guys the 315/30/18 is short sidewall and not the correct size for a 997 based car but with the GT3 you can fully turn off the PSM and be OK.
The 315 would not work on my Carrera based 997 because PSM can't be fully tuned off. So I have been using Trakcars stash of 335 RA1 on my GTS. That NT01/RA1 combo works.
I think Deputy Dog got some ABS ICe mode but overall that size worked for him on his .1 GT3 no problems....however the 305/35/18 will definitely work as it along with the 245/40/18 is the same overall diameter as the stock 19" sizes.

i know a gt3 owner that use to post on rennlist in the early days who I ran with at WG that would run the 265/335 R1s I believe on the OE rims - i believe, but could be wrong, that he removed the 5mm OE spacer in the rear to make it fit - that and the tire being slightly shorter made it work
until you measure a tire by hand you just never know if the specs are true
the thing with the narrow body 997mk1 gt3 is that the stock 305 tire with the OE 5mm spacer leaves far more room on the inner spring side than it does with the fender - so by removing the 5mm spacer and thus using a 68 offset rim, or even slightly less aggressive, you can no doubt fit a 325 tire and clearly a small 335
i believe his feedback on that tire was it wasn't as sticky as the Hoosier but lasted longer

I think we'll all find that NT01's will like just a touch more negative camber than the RA1's, or you'll need to be a bit more patient on out-laps, if you want to run the same pressures and get the same wear.
I'm going to keep my alignment the same for the first weekend to see how they wear and adjust from there. Will post back my findings, but I don't expect it to be much different. If anything, I'm expecting to have to stiffen the rear bar or soften the front bar, to keep the balance the same since this 305 is wider than the 305 RA1.

You'll find using this alignment, bar settings, and pressures (32/34 hot) will give you a good starting point to dial in from there for your personal preference. This setup for me, is the perfect balance between almost eliminating understeer while not making the rear end snappy. It is biased toward a little oversteer, but that's how a 911 should be driven anyway
