Default Got My Nitto NT01 305's!...They are Wide!

I just picked up my Nitto NT01 305/35/18 from Monte at Discount Tire Lakeland FL. He wanted me to say thanks for him to all those that ordered NT01's from him and his deal is still standing. 245's $235 and 305's $295.

863-797-1236 ask for Monte Marzilli.

Anyway I compared these new NT01 305's to the discontinued set of Toyo RA1 335's I have and it seems like Nitto made the 305's pretty wide. This is good news...as you might know one brand of 305 can be wider or skinny than another brand of 305. I got out my tape measure and went from usable shoulder on the RA1 335 vs the NT01 305 and there is no difference I could measure. Both are right at 12.25". I even compared a old set of Toyo R888 315 which are wider just slightly than the RA1 335. Interesting but good news for GT3RS guys too.

So glad Nitto stepped up to make 305/35/18 and thanks to Mvez I believe who started us on emailing Nitto a year ago!

Nice! I look forward to hearing what you think of their track performance compared to others.

Of course, now that Porsche has jumped the shark to 20" wheels, I guess we need to start hounding Nitto again!

I just looked at Nitto's website. Coming soon they have a 20" NT01...??? I think it was a 285.

In case anybody wants to know, the 245/40/18 weighs 25.5 lbs and the 305/35/18 weighs 31.7 (yes, I did not have anything better to do today)

18" wheels seem to not fit on the new 991 Porsche cars but 19" will fit those cars. I'm hanging on to my GTS "wanna be" a few more years and see what shakes out with Porsche and other brands. Due to cost reasons I may jump down into a Cayman or other brand in a few years. I'm not interested in having the fastest car at a DE...I just want to drive what ever I have well, have fun and drive well.

I'm sure they will drive great as others have been using the 245/315 NT01 on 996 and some 997 cars for awhile with awesome results. I'm just happy these 305's are out and this is the correct diameter sizing for the 997.

I should have mine in a few days. Hopefully they're not wider than the r888s. Those fit my wheels perfectly.

Does it really help to put one session on them when they are new then let them sit overnight?

I've never noticed any better wear with heat cycle but I'm no pro either and not driving 10/10ths.

However on new full tread your 1st day will not be your best times. Plus I've found it best to scrub them in gently 1st few sessions with gradual speed up on lap times through the day.

Hell yes. Going to cord a couple sets of RA1's at Putnam (aka the tire grinder) this weekend. Then on go the NT01's for Mid-O next month.

So 315 nt-01s are no good for 7gt3's? I have them on my 6gt3.
