18" fits front of 991 but not the rear, the control arm is weird in the back and almost touches on some 19"

Others running Nitto NT01 245/315 and I was running Nitto Nt01 245 front and Toyo RA1 335 rears shoot for 32/33 isn front and rear...hot.

Will this tire fit on a 12" wheel? Currently I am running the NT01/RA1 combo. Just wonder if using the 305 tire would be too stretched.

Again, what's the problem with using 315 NT01s? Is it that the diameter of the 305/35 is closer to OEM than the 315/30? I just ordered a new set of 245/40 + 315/30 NT01's for my 6GT3 so curious why the excitement about the 305's?

My 6GT3 came with a set of NT01's like you just ordered, and the previous owner had the car professionally setup by a shop that I know has a very good rep so I think the 315/30 size is just fine for the 6GT3.

I like 31-32F and 33-34R with the 245/315 Nitto combo. I assume the 305 rear will be similar.

Anything over 36 PSI hot I can tell instantly on the track. They get funny/greasy in the corners and under braking.

I start out at 24F - 26R cold and find I don't have to bleed off too much over the day. I check them each time I get back to the paddock and usually only need to drop 0.5 PSI (Unless it started out really cool in the morning and the ambient temps went way up during the day. 50* AM and 90* PM can happen in the spring here)

The 315/30 is a little too short for the 997 cars which had a slightly different tire height from the factory front to rear vs. our cars.

The shorter 315/30 rear caused enough of a rolling diameter difference to upset the ABS and occasionally cause ice mode for some. the 35 series profile on the 305 gives that extra diameter to make them safe to use.

it's not an issuse on our '6 GT3's. 315's are good to go on our cars.

**edit** one more thought. I really like 36/38 on the Nitto's. They "felt" better at like 34/36 but I was starting to get a wear pattern to the tires indicating pressure was not high enough (cupping in the center) at those pressures.

Are some of you guys driving to/from the track on these tires? I'm looking for something that works for tracks 1-2 hours away - to drive there and run a DE and then drive back home.

Yes, all the time. Drove them to work the other day cause I've been too lazy to take them off since the last track day. They suck in the rain if they're not full tread.

Yes, you can drive them but pay extra caution (drive much slower) in rain especially when you have little thread left.

305's fit 12" wheel no problem. GT3 comes stock with 305 on 12". I have been running 305's on 12" for years.

It's the same. Give or take. One nice thing is they come with shallower tread depth than RA1 so no shaving. So you get better performance when they are brand new, but they equal out once you get to shaved RA1 tread depths. I believe nitto come as 5/32nd.

Yes. Nitto's get some weird chunking if you go straight from the tire store to the track. Never enough to make you stop running them, but still. When I called Nitto, they suggested a heat cycle. Ain't nobody got time for that Just go drive around on them for a while and let them cool. That's what I did and the chunking went away.

Yes, I've been through 4 sets. They're fine.

I finally settled on 32/34. Gives up some tread wear but grip is better. Alignment is important too.

I think that they were too short for a 997 was just a rumor based on someone doing the math but not actually trying them in real life. Never had an issue. I don't have PSM though so someone with psm might have a different experience. I can get all sorts of tires to ice if I try hard enough. Including the 19's on supersports. If you're that deep in the abs you're probably doing something wrong anyway and need to re evaluate.
