At the rate Porsche add power to their cars, it'll take 10+ years.

Have you found your GT2 already? Im very happy with the car (997 GT2)..but the RS chassis is better I think..on the other hand.,..the power is clearly there and speaks for the GT2..
Mine is a 2008 CS...look forward to your review..

Hey there, working on it right now, if everything goes well, she should be on it's way next week.
The chassis part, yes, but nothing that I can't take care within a few days of work, car is also a little heavier, and carries the old PASM. The 997.2 GT3 RS is probably one of the sharpest street car I ever drove in stock form.
I think they are very different cars, RS being alive, visceral sound and throttle response and driver friendly and GT2 being less refined (at the track) and massive torque, would make the car a little more challenging to drive.
Not better or worse, just different. Will probably keep the car for a little bit a after that buy another RS, or who knows what.
In other hand the more I drive the little guy (964 RSA) more I like it, so now the 964 is the priority. I need to make it light as fast.
As soon as I have the chance to finish the transaction and do the things that 'need' to be done, I'll bring it to the track, even though my focus with this car is pleasure and not main track use. Of course I'll have to attempt better lap times than the RS, but that' only for early next year.

to US...
Total 3.8 production was ~ 2800 I think, just had the figure the other day in front of my nose...but not sure..but I remember clearly that it was less then 3000 and that the 3.8 was produced considerably less then 3.6..

Yes, production numbers are for US. MJones posted the numbers. I suspect that we will see an increase in volume for the 991 GT3 - because of the engine. The Mezger engine was more labour intensive to build - could have been what held the production numbers down on 996 and 997 GT3s. The new 991 GT3 engine, while having different parts that the base 991, will still be built with same amount of automation.

Problem is here in America, every time you see a 997 GT2 at the track is with a newbie, or someone that has more $ than common sense or talent.
In a track like Sebring where it favors HP, the power and torque of the GT2, added to a few mods (also done in the gt3s) will make it a faster car.
