Default Clutch pedal sticks on up movement

While driving today, the clutch pedal got really hard to release up smoothly out of first gear. It just seems to have more resistance at a certain point before engagement and then it would just pop or release past the hard resistance point. I end up gassing too much because I'm expecting the clutch to have gone further up than it did, but instead it's stuck at some point lower in the travel. Today was a pretty hot day so not sure if that contributed to it. I'm due for a tranny flush which I haven't had time to do yet.

Clutch pedal sticking could be pressure plate related...

That doesn't sound good. The car only has 17k miles.

Have you bled clutch?

Start there, if doesn't work replace clutch, pp, throw out bearing

Have never done any of that. What's the cost for bleeding clutch?

I had the same problem before. Try bleeding the clutch first. After that if it doesn't work, it can most probably be the slave cylinder of the clutch failing because it can't hold pressure. Happened to my car before. I step on the clutch and shift and when I release it, the clutch would stop at some point when coming up and then just pops up. Then it deteriorated to the point that I had to use my foot of drag the pedal up. Mostly due to clutch slave cylinder. Hope this helps!

Let's hope the bleed or slave cylinder is the culprit...

If you work on your car, bleeding the slave it pretty simple if not, I can't imagine a shop charging you more than an hour of shop labor to bleed the clutch...

That's exactly what happens..the stopping at some point and then popping up.

It will soon deteriorate into not popping up at all. You will need to use your foot to drag it up. Try bleeding first. If that doesn't do it then it's mostly the slave. Let us know how it goes!

Could be the clutch booster on the clutch master cylinder, at least that's what my dealer has diagnosed with mine.

Yet to have the work done and no fault is present at the moment.

Called Carlsen and the service guy on the phone said if it sticks like that, it's the slave and quoted roughly $700-800 for the slave cylinder. Does that sound about right?

Well the Fremont (closer to me) Porsche service guys are terrible at customer service. Both times I came to their service counters, they sat there on their asses looking at me instead of coming over to assist.

I reached out to the shop you recommended also. Waiting for price quote.
