Another 997.2 recall? - Air intake

It doesn't sound like it. My guy told me porsche has authorized 2 hr shop time but he said that they commonly under cut the time because they don't want to pay for more labor time. He said it'll be about half day. Problem is that not too many places have done the recall as it is new and the rarity of the cars as well.

The bill of materials I was shown includes driveshaft bolts (being single-use items in the factory's view). That says something about engine out... and if you look at the location of the afflicted "distributor tube", it's nigh on impossible to free that bit without getting in the way of the oil filler tube and power steering pump.

Perhaps some dealer will a more creative way of getting access, but I sure hope mine's gonna follow the procedures and drop the engine!

My 2010 RS is also on the list.
I have never taken the car to a dealership before, I set up an appointment with Schneider Nelson (the car and I are on the East coast for a nice, humid summer.) Will they care that I have a cage & harnesses? If anyone on here has a service advisor or rep they prefer over there, let me know.

I

from the sounds of the description it is surgery.
Let us know how things go. Has Hoehn done any others yet?
When I took my car in last week for Newport Beach Porsche to change my instrument cluster (swapping to White dials) the service manager, Jason, told me that the recall just came out and they had printed out the manual on what to do. He said they haven't received the parts yet for the recall as it was so new. So 2 days later, I go in to pick up my car after the cluster change out (long story why it took 2 days, will need another post) I tell Rick that I need to come back for the recall but I don't want to be the first one. He says "oooh which recall is that......." so I briefly tell him the intake flap thingy, and he says, "oh yah we have done two already....."
While the other service guy says Porsche hasn't sent the parts to us yes....... I smell something fishy
