i can see Clarke in the old man so looks can be deceiving
great job Clarke & Sly
see you guys Friday assuming you are still going
I arrive around 9 Thursdays night - is anyone trackside going to be there - I'm off track so just want to know if people are meeting up Thursday night
Francois are you on track Thursday with the trailer?

Nordschleife Master
Paul, we will be there early pm on Thursday. Booked 3 of the 9 'premium' rv spots in the north paddock, overlooking Roller Coaster. See you there.

While we had fun driving the car around with Dad punching it on every straight we came to, the car is not really complete yet.
Things yet to be completed:
cable to speedo
sender to gas gauge
stereo
proper attachment of rear reflector (broken connectors)
windshield washers
windshield wipers
rocker trims
front fender trims
correct seats (used some SC seats for time being)
wet sand and buff
chemical glass cleaner to remove acid rain spotting (car still has original glass)
Upgrades I am considering:
Brakes are stock and they suck. Upgrade to SC or Turbo or Boxster.
Trans is 915 and sucks. Thinking of a Patrick Motorsports shortened G50.
So I left him my new-to-me black 964 until his car is actually complete.

Three Wheelin'
Hi Clarke, I just read through the thread, great story, your Dad looked a very happy man. It reminded me of my Dad when for his 80th I presented him with the car he had always wanted since the mid 1970's, a British sports tourer.
He never treated himself as his first love was yachting and so as a family and right through to the age of 75 he contnued to sail.
For 9 months, he really enjoyed that car, with no yacht to spend his time and energy on, he and my mother started doing some road rally's as they had in the 1960's before I was born.
The sad part of my story is, my father passed away 9 months later, due to his Dr making a misdiagnosis.
Thank you for your story, quite different, but it brought back some great memories for me.

the day after we delivered the car I awoke after much needed sleep and saw this out my window. Too lazy to open the window and remove the screen...
