18" is no problem, another set of wheels no problem, but it is not available in 325 or 335 for our rear.

Ahh, that's right. I wonder if that's why some RS guys go with Nitto fronts and R888 rears. Supposedly, they have similar compounds.

What wheels are you running?

On the Nitto site they don't show 19's at all.
I'm running OZ Challenge Center Locks 9x18 and 12x18...from Tire Rack. Call Damon at Tire Rack he knows what you need.

Thanks Mike

I have 18 BBS wheels and a spare set on the way, I had initially thought you may be running 19's

In OZ the importer doesn't carry the widths and profiles for our cars as they cater for the EVO's and WRX market by the looks of it

Mike...yeah BBS are the best but too much $$ for me so a lot of us here run the OZ HLT Challenge wheels which are the best bang for buck at around $2100 a set. If I had 5 lugs I'd step it up and run CCW like I use to do on my other 997's. the CCw's are forged super strong race proven and around $3000 a set but they don't do center lock. Forgeline are very nice too and around $4-5k a set and have either mono block or 3 piece like BBS.

Also look into Formula 43. Saw some cars in our Rolex Grand Am series running them.

I run the NT01 245/40 and 305/35/18 combo on my 996. These tires absolutely rock. $962 out the door for the last couple of sets I bought. They have gone up a bit in price as the set I ordered yesterday from DT was $1002 out the door. I have 34 cycles on my current set and both front and rears are just about at the cords but the tires still feel great. Awesome bang for the buck!! You can't beat this with any tires on the market right now..

Powerhound....the 996 based cars are supposed to run a larger diameter front than rear...where as the 997 based cars it's the other way around larger diameter rear than front.

All my 996 based car track friends run 245/40/18 and 315/30/18. Just an FYI but yeah these Nitto NT01 are great and I can find any flaw with them...they sticks as well or better than $2000 tires but they don't heat cycle out and wear out like $2000 tires...hummm! Yeah!

For several years, I ran the 245/40 with the 315/30 rear just as you state. I switched to the 1" taller 305/35/18 at the urging of Chris Cervelli who completely revamped the set up on my car. I find the 305/35 infinitely better. Larger contact patch, better grip, stiffer sidewall, less rollover, just better all the way around. No comparison, really blew me away. The 996 cups run a larger rear and I am beginning to see why.

Dunlop's website is remarkably unclear. Is there a special spec for GT3s (like Pirelli or Michelin's) or did you use the standard 87Y/102Y load ratings ?
And just to put your feedback in context, what kind of BTG lap times do you clock ?
Thanks !

I think there is only one compound for Dunlops in GT3 997 size. I ran stock sizes.

My Ring lap times are very close to Porsche factory driver lap times in 997 GT3.

This is my lap with stock 997.2 GT3 with regular MPSC tire. Front tires were a bit wider 245 instead 235, rears are stock size

With Trofeo R I had no chance to record a clean lap with no traffic, but according to sector lap times, overall lap time should me about 5 seconds faster.

^ Very impressive driving. Your times are certainly better than a lot of folks here (incl. myself) but I think the PAG advertised times are full loop not BtG...

There are full-loop 7:26 videos around and they're a different pace altogether. Not that it should take away from your driving anyhow
