Default 315 nt01 is not good for 997?

an idiot from discount tire direct just called me and cancelled my order of nt01 tires claiming that rear 315 tire does not have sufficient load rating for any 997 car. as he claimed 'they checked'.

anybody else had similar experience or is it just my lucky day? tire got 1653lbs max load rating, is it not enough for a 3k lbs car now? what is the standard load requirement for 997 cars on rear tires?

Re-order and leave the car information blank.

no reason to list what car you are using them for. just order the tires.

here, call this guy on his direct line, he will take care of it -

they called me and demanded car info. told they cannot process order without it. overall they did set me off big time, I do not care to deal with them no more. they can sell their crap to whomever else who will want to be interrogated in such way.

That's strange! I listed my Porsche info when I ordered and no issue at all. Could be that you have PSM?

I posted previously about how I wasn't a fan of the load rating from the 30 aspect ratio on the 315-30-18, doesn't mean it won't work, but I'm using rear RA1's until I can't get them anymore.

How much more load rating do you feel it needs?

Last time my RS was on the scales DR was 988 and PR was 982. I understand these are static loads but even dynamic loads under acceleration and with downforce can it really add up to another 650lbs+ per tire?

The load rating on the two rear NT-01 tires (~3300lbs) is more than my GT3 RS weighs with me in it and 3/4 tank of fuel!

Tons of 996 GT3's runs this exact same tire, and it's not like our car is much heavier back there. It will be fine.
