You will soon realize that the quote

" Racing (DE) is such a strong addiction that it makes heroin seem like a mild craving for a salty snack"

Enjoy the ride.

I would recommend you focus on mods for safety gear first, sounds like you are getting great seats, so install a Hans compatible 6 point harness, buy a Hans and enjoy.

And stay unmarried unless you find a girl who is also REALLY into cars. Ask me how I know! GL and remember, " A racer and his money soon part ways!"

Hehe see you soon.. Just a couple of quick but neat rear suspension fixes that I'd use:

4.0 has a better similar toe link and those dog bones solidify the pivot points up top. Just less mush and more precision

PHASE 1:
* rear toe links
* remove side mufflers, put stock rear center muffler back on (this version saves a lot of weight)
* truck and open Trailex trailer
* 18" BBS rims (at least 2 sets)
* R6 Hoosiers for BBS rims
* Vbox - video/timing

PHASE 2:
* full cage
* Recaro or Sparco seats
* enclosed trailer

PHASE 3:
* second/backup car of equal or greater speed, new/better model GT3 or Cup car
* double car enclosed trailer

PHASE 4:
* you get the idea, shouldn't need our help anymore

I just pulled the trigger on some GT2 buckets and a RSS bar, hoping to get them installed in time for PCA's Thunderhill DE later this month. The only other mods I currently have on the car are Wevo engine mounts, Sharkwerks bypass and EVOMS ecu tune.

After I get a little more used to the car on the track, I think my next focus will be suspension. Any recommendations? I primarily use the car as my DD...
Just add a HANS and 6pt harnesses to the buckets and the roll bar and you should be good to go for at least two years or 30+ track days. When you KNOW that you are driving the wheels of the car in its current set-up then start thinking about making improvements to the suspension or adding slicks.

At this point, your money is much better spent on seat time. Actually, adding more aggressive suspension and grip (slicks) now may slow down your progress as a driver.

The slower your car and the more slippery your tires are at the beginning, the faster (and easier) you will learn about momentum and car control which are essential for reaching the higher levels of the craft. You need to earn your access to stiffer suspension and stickier tires by mastering the softer and more slippery stuff first.

I'm planning on buying a HANS device tomorrow, what angle works best with the GT2 buckets? I don't have the seats yet so I can't test fit.

Yup, I'm getting a roll bar installed with the buckets. I'm also getting the schroth harness that's HANS ready.
