Passing DEQ

So to clarify- I don't have a CEL and I have EVOM software.
The issue is that all the software does is mask the CEL (well, probably more), and what it doesn't do is get rid of the OBD readiness codes which causes issues with DEQ when the monitor is hooked up to your OBD port.
Thus my issue...

In California won't pass visual inspection so they won't even smog it. Car is track car only so doesn't matter for me. Do they do visual inspect in Oregon? Anyway the 6 is very easy to switch from cat bypass to stock cats. The 7 not so easy. I probably leave it alone. 3.8 are fast enuf : ). Mike

That's what I thought, makes more sense now.
Oregon DEQ is plug OBD port and scan. But you never know they can always inspect, so.... I'm just trying to get more MPG... know what I mean?

In TX they also use OBD, but could look if they want. That is why I always get my inspections at the Shell station. If they want to look at the engine, I just open the front hood, Goober strokes his chin and says "Looks OK to me!". Never fails.
A couple of serious points: TX rules allow 1 "not ready" item and you still pass. Probably tougher in OR, but you might check. This makes the cat output irrelevant (the non-existent cat is "not ready") as long as all other engine codes are clean.
Some codes, even when the condition is gone MUST BE EXPICITLY CLEARED. IF you (or someone you know) has a Durametric Pro, try clearing all codes.
After a change in the emission control equipment or ECU reset (and maybe after disconnecting the battery), emission status is "not ready" until the ECU has some history (more than 10 miles, less than 100 - don't know) so if you make a change, I think you have to drive it a bit for the results to show up. Anybody know if Durametric shows emission status? Be nice to know where you are before you go in.....
