Default Cup exhaust for a street 997 GT3

Hi all,

Does anyone have any opinions on using the Cup exhaust on a street car? I´m not worried about the high exhaust note, more so for the lack of it

The pricing on this part is quite attractive..

Hey Matias.

I love the sound of the Cup-Exhaust on the street-car! There are also several videos floating around on youtube showing the sound...

If you're interested: I might have a used center-muffler of a 2009 Cup (3000km, no cracks or other damage!) for sale.

I've tried stock, center muffler bypass, and cup muffler. My favorite is cup muffler. It's louder than stock with valves unplugged, but quieter than center muffler bypass. IMO, it's the best value in aftermarket 997 exhausts at 1500 euro from Carnewal.

Video of a 4.0 GT3 with 997 street headers and 997 cup muffler:

Oh, so it will be more quiet than a center muffler bypass.. I wan´t an aggressive sound on the car. The sound on your was great but you have the headers as well.

go with GMG headers with 200 cell cats, delete the side mufflers then use stock steel center or cup center.

I use the 997 Cup side deletes with a 997 Cup center exhaust.

I use it for the track on Sunday and the mall on monday with the wifey. Works great. Not cheap, but nice.
The sound is totally streetable.
RPW sell M&M side deletes with center muffler combo which is basically the same thing for less money. Works great!

Thanks TCS, the Cup exhaust with the side muffler deletes is actually one of the cheapest system that I found available (except the x-pipe or similar products). I was also interested in the Sharkwerks track pipe but Alex told me it will be to loud. Seems like straight up guys, really appreciate shops that are'nt afraid to tell it like it is.

I want to listen to sharks track pipe in person.... Anyone in socal has a setup?

Europipe used to make a straight pipe also hut I think it was not popular enough.

Low end torque is lost on all these systems I think and probably a software tune is needed....

+1. RPW side muffler delete pipes, 200 cell cats, and a stock steel center here.

I used drive rally cars and still have these that I can use:

The street cred goes up by 57%

I ordered the Cup Exhaust with the side muffler delete system. I´m told it´s gonna be crazy loud..

cup car is above street legal sound limit, you can be ticketed by police. as well as many tracks now also enforce sound limits.

well, the Cup side deletes with Cup center is not crazy expensive when compared to AKRA titanium systems etc.
