The street cred goes up by 57%

I ordered the Cup Exhaust with the side muffler delete system. I´m told it´s gonna be crazy loud..
it is not crazy loud.

Sharkwerks track exhaust and Cup supercup pipes are crazy loud.

Im surprised how streetable the cup center is. Not much louder under throttle then the Sharkwerks center delete.

You will love it!

Low end torque is lost on all these systems I think and probably a software tune is needed....
Got one in SoCal with Sharky Track pipes. If you're interested in hearing, let me know.

TCS, I´m sure that i´ll be happy with the mod. I payed 2000 € (2600 dollars) for the whole system installed with everything, IMO that cheap..

TCS and Finhenke: When u guys installed the cup exhaust and side muffler delete pipes, did the kit come with plugs to delete the vacuum lines?

TIA,
John

For those of you that run this have you noticed a drop in power? I was told by several shops that putting the cup exhaust on a street gt3 will lose power as it wasnt designed for it.

The 997.1GT3 has no power in the low rpm range anyhow so it is hard to notice any hp loss if any at all. High rpm is where the exhaust comes to life and might show a few extra hp on a dyno in that range.

the weight and heat savings are the benefit.

we corked my vacuum lines for the hell of it. Perhaps keep dirt and moisture out.
not sure what the practice should be.

Brought car to the dealer for routine annual service the day after we installed cup exhaust with corked vacuum hoses.

Dealer noticed a small rear main seal oil leak and said it was due to corking the vacuum lines and aftermarket exhaust. Thus they didnt warranty repair it.

I have since gone back to the dealer requesting a better explanation as to why they didnt bother to repair it however a race shop in floirda told me that a GT3 parked for a long time is bound to weap oil anyhow thus all is normal and not worry as a new seal on a parked car will only weap again with time.

I need to use my GT3 more often!

Right. I re- read my email exchanges and basically the cup exhaust lost a lot of torque down low when they dyno'd it. Since these cars already have no power down low, I'd hate to make it even worse.

I would love to see the dyno, as my experience developing and testing doesn't show that.
Anyway who drive these cars at 1500-2500 RPM should drive a diesel truck.
