Default Feeler: 2010 GT3 RS, Grey/red, 11K miles, $140K

I helped a good friend pickup this car back in Nov. and he's thinking about now selling. Here's the vitals pending a full blown FS ad:

2010 GT3 RS
Grey / lipstick red
11K miles
CPO'd Nov. 2012
Highly optioned; $163K MSPR
Key options: PCCB, axle lift, SPP, Nav, dynamic cornering lights, Sport Chrono, BT and more
Ask is $140K OBO
Car is in Socal, near Pasadena

The good:
- GMG roll bar
- Schroth Harnesses
- 0 over revs in any range as of last trip to the shop
- Sharky bypass installed
- front of car clear bra'd
- clean PPI when purchased a few months back

The less than good:
- Carfax reads 5 owners but 2 are the same dealer; when we found it, I researched the VIN and the longest owner was a fellow Rennlister who had owned it the majority of its life. He had full documentation and records.
- Tranny was replaced late last year under warranty. It was a combo of dealer error and the tranny grenading due to mfg defect.
- Well cared for but has seen some track time.

Owner also has a TON of goodies he will either sell separately or could include in a package deal to a prospective buyer. They include:
- 2nd set of red OEM center locks with MPSC's
- 3rd set of Tech 1 18" monblocs in black. Dunlop slicks.
- 8 (yes 8) sets of OEM sized MPSC's - all brand new.
- Snap On Mega CL torque wrench
- Car cover (OEM i believe)

If you have any interest, feel free to PM me. Owner is not in a rush to sell or desperate for cash.

You said "feeler" so I am assuming you want opinions. So here is mine: Price is too high for the mileage.

Clarke I agree. I pegged a different price but I'm doing as asked. If anyone is has real interest, the "OBO" will come into play.

Agree with Clark, but pickings are slim and make hay while the sun shines- if you can get anything over 130 for an RS now, do it if you want to sell.

After new GT3 comes out next week, the buzz will change and by Fall the pricing will be much less on any RS- back to what it was last winter probably (120's or less).

Unfortunately a lot of options on the original sticker does not mean a better resale down the line. In fact, it is the opposite. The simple truth is he won't get much more than a stripper that was $20K less to build. Some options also turn off buyers like colored stitching, colors dials and the wart on the dash (Sports Chrono).

Will you/he be selling the MPSC separately if the buyer does not want them? I could be interested at a fair price.

He's trying to sell car first and if there is no interest, he'll keep everything.

That will partially depend on what the next gen GT3 turns out to be. As evidenced by the 50+ page thread on here, I'd guess if it is PDK only, you won't be finding the market flooded with 997 GT cars next fall.

^ Don't think we are the majority of buyer's and sellers of GT3's by any stretch. The newest and greatest Porsche GT3 will have collectors and those that must have the latest and greatest to buy the latest GT3 and sell their old. No matter what we think here on Rennlist, if the ring times are faster and reviews are good, then you can expect non rennlisters to be planning their next purchase.

with the PDK, ring/track times can only be faster for average Joes like myself. Just set it in Sport mode and go. When a vanilla Gt3 passes a 4.0 on track easily, I think it will be hard for those that need and want the greatest to resist. Especially as the PDK is so flattering. I rather practise my imperfect shifting but suspect lots of other folks already regard heel/toe as superfluous.

I agree PDK will be a hit with Porsche fans. But equally, there will be a band of fanatics that will cling on to their manual shifting mezgers no matter how slow they are.
