With the arrival of our new C4S I have run out of garage space. Unfortunately I can't go up nor can I add additional garage space. So I'm thinking of going down! Does anyone have experience with PhantomPark? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Might want to check the groundwater table. If you dig a 10 ft hole, will it fill with water on its own?

Hey beautiful lift, especially like the exterior use. Seriously though if you are considering this there are some serious structural and practical issues to address. Usually this type of sub surface lift is Pre planed and the garage built for it originally. To simply cut a hole in your existing slab and excavate the solis to put this in would be a HUGE issues.

Groundwater, soils stability, dirt disposal, getting the excavation equipment equipment in. If you could do all that then you have to cut several feet wider and deeper and pour in a supporting structure to not only hold the lift but to stabilize the rest of your garage that is no longer seamless.

Raising the height of your garage is not an option, this is a relatively simple process and only has to go up a few feet. If you are height restricted and cutting and lifting the roof as a whole unit would make it to tight then you can look at a different approach.

If you will PM me I'd be happy to give you a hand with planning. Depending on the height you need you might be able to kill two birds with one stone. Possibly you can simply cut out the ceiling joists and use collar ties at the top to hold the load and make room for the vertical lift you need without any exterior modification. This would allow you to buy a regular arm lift which can double as a service lift. Even if you can go full height to work under the car standing our cars are less than 5 feet in height. Therefore with the arms you would only need to lift high enough to clear the lower car.

I have been looking into a lift as well and the ceiling height is something I have an issue with as well although mine is likely not going to be easy to address.

I have 11 Ft ceilings in our three car garage but there is a support beam which sits clear across the span at the centerpoint of the garage. This lowers the height to just under 10Ft where the beam is located. The beam is enclosed in sheetrock so it has a width of 16".

Anyone know if this would be an issue when using a four post lift? Anyone have a simliar situation and find a solution?

Five years ago, I was quoted $25K (plus the lift) to excavate and install a similar lift.

I'm with you. I have two car garage, with an 8 1/2 foot ceiling (and a beam near the middle). I could have fit the Miura and the Dino on one side with a lift, but that would be it.

It's a lot cheaper if planned from the beginning, before a slab is laid and pipes are run, and the house is finished.
I think it was around $5-6K, then.
