Default Nitto NT01 new sizes?

there was a talk last fall regarding a possibility of nitto making new sizes for NT01 for new season - so, are there any news about that? or is it still where it was, pretty much?

If they could only add a 255/35/18 and a 265/35/18 to their lineup, that would be great !

I'm not too crazy about the load rating of the 315-30-18 in a rear engine car, and the load rating from a 35 aspect ratio is much better. Actually, if they would just add the correct 305-35-18 and maybe a 315-35-18, we would be fine. More sidewall = more progressive grip on these tires, trust me.

Keep bugging them for a 305-35-18, or a 315-35-18. Either will work for RS and Narrow body.

I just sent Nitto an email 4 weeks ago about sizes. I send them emails about every 2-3 months. I get the same canned response back. I doubt they are going to do anything.

I agree...I'd rather have the 305/35/18 over the 315/30/18.

I tried with R888 245/305 and then thought 255/315 would be better and it was not better. The car felt a little better with the 245/305 combo. But at this point I'd take whatever Nitto would make that would be the correct fron tto rear overall diameter ratio for a 997.
On the other hand you 997.1 and .2 GT3 guys can turn off PSM and run the 245/315 size with out issues. My GTS is Carrera based PSM and can't truely be turned off.

i am going to use 245/315 nt01 makes. i see no other possible tire i could use to drive to track and back to put on 9"/12" rims. i hope PSM will not complain, i think somebody reported last year that this combo works fine.
other possible choice could be to try 275/315 but it is way off normal balance imho. 245/315 will probably be fine.

BF Goodrich has the new G Force Rival. Not sure it will be as grippy as nt 01 but it's streetable. And the size offerings are going to be comparable. TireRack has the fronts very soon but will be a couple months on the rears.

G Force Rival aren't r-comps and they have wear factor 200 so it is not nearly same as NT01. IMHO.

Still, it looks to be a like good option for a drive to the track and run, My buddy Bucky Lasek, Puma/Subaru driver, is getting a set any day now. Waiting for a report. Won't be as fast as a NT-01 of course but might be closer than you think and wear great.

Utkinpul, R888 comes in the perfect sizes but they have tread seem split issues...and friends don't let friends drive R888's.

Wow that is good to know about the R888s. I was going to look into some for my project pocket rocket car.

Dark star, yeah I had 4- 255/35/18 that split at the seem entirely across the tread. The rear 315/30/18 didn't split all the way but had some small cracks starting at the seem. Toyo wanted to SE the tires and Tire Rack refunded me in full. Tire Rack was awesome to deal with on this. I have meet other at the track with this same issue with R888.

I think a lot of people are waiting for someone with a 997 with PASM, ABS, TC that cannot be turned totally off to be the guinea pig with the NT-01 245/305 setup. I know I am.

I'd try this...if anyone wants to donate a rear set of Nitto NT01 315/30/18...I'm already using the NT01 245 fronts now with old RA1 335 rears.
