Bruce Anderson of Excellance Magazine
I left a message for Bruce Anderson today regarding a question about a car I was interested in. His wife called back and said Bruce had passed away on Friday. Many of you know that he was the one of the tech editors as well as the editor for the Buyers Guide for Excellence. He will be missed by the Porsche community. RIP

Here's to Bruce Anderson. A great Porsche authority and the source of invaluable information, and hours of pleasurable reading (and many equally enjoyable hours of animated discussion with friends about whatever Bruce had written.) Many times over the years, I renewed my Excellence subscription just because I wanted to stockpile Bruce Anderson's writing and his opinion on specific cars each month. You never know when you find "the one" and you want a very much unbiased opinion and trusted advice. Anderson will be remembered as one of the truly great Porsche guys. When you talked in the paddock about a race car, or looked over a particularly interesting 911, his name would often be the stamp of approval in the credentials of the car.
Too soon.
Too soon.

So sorry to hear this. My formative years in Porsche love were greatly abetted by his writing in various mags, and of course I bought the air-cooled book back in the day. RIP and best wishes to Bruce's family.

What a shock! I wrote Bruce regarding building up a 3.0 L to a 3.2 L with Ruf P&C & 3.2 intake and crankfire ignition. 14 years ago, this was a big deal. He had fantastic and very knowledgeable advice for me. The motor was built with his advice in mind.
How many of us placed 16 X 8 (from 944 Turbo) and 16 X 9 s (930 Turbo) Fuchs on our 911sc and Carrera's because this was the "hot ticket" set up that Bruce recommended.
Condolences to his family and everyone who were fortunate to have known him.
He will be missed.

My feelings are with his family first of all.
I am a long time subscriber in Europe of Excellence..and have greatly enjoyed his articles...he knew what he was talking about - there arent so many around anymore.
If I remember correctly, another editor/writer passed of Excellence passed away already 1-2 years ago (?)..its sad - the Porsche community will miss you. I hope Excellence can and will continue and will keep his work in good hands.

Bruce was one of the foremost 911 experts and also wrote for Panorama, answering owner's questions on various tech problems. I wrote him on more than one occasion about my old Carrera and he was always quick to reply with great advice. So sorry to hear he has passed. My condolences to his family.
