Really? My one time in one, at Barber, it seemed fine. I have gigantic feet, so maybe that helped?

I guess he goes by the moto "drive it like you stole it". Didn't seem to affect his flow or speed significantly in any case.
Great vid none the less...

It's a real busy driving style but he's got the ***** to carry it through. Hats off to all that. 250 thru the foxhole with all nannies off (see dash) is the stuff of dreams...
That, and I'm certainly now paying attention to this new SportsMaxx Race rubber from Dunlop. Tirerack doesn't have sizes though. Can't wait to actually drive and compare it with the Trofeo/TrofeoR.

Not to say that Porsche won't use them in the future if they can get a better deal on them

I'm beginning to think that this driving style (as in no heel/toe) is catered to just how quickly and relentlessly corners occur on the Nurburgring. Having experienced the track first hand, and in noticing this same downshifting technique from several "Ring Meisters" in other videos, maybe there is just something about this timed and slow clutch release that makes more sense there... Just my opinion on the clutch abuse in question.

I see a TPMS light (makes sense given that those wheels were probably just thrown on the car), not sure what the red light is, high beams, and the stability control light came on virtually at every corner.

He doesn't heal and toe because he probably doesn't know how to do it anymore, or can't do it and be quick.
If you notice he goes straight into gears too - like from 5 - 3 etc. Thats fine, I do that sometimes (but I'm not a Porsche factory driver).
Its a nice video, neat to see a 4.0 in action at speed and interesting to see this Dunlop working, it seems like a good tire.
But the driver wasn't that impressive. I've seen much, much better. His style looks violent and fast, but for a factory driver I would have thought he'd be smoother and faster. I spotted half a dozen mistakes in various corners - big enough that I was wondering "whats he doing?" Sorry.

You thought he would have been smoother and FASTER!! Are you joking? He done a 7min 20 bridge to Gantry give the fella a break!! With regards going straight into gears "like from 5 - 3 etc" whats the problem with this, as Jackie Stewart says some people believe the gearbox is like a gun, you go 5-4-3-2 no you don't, and Jackie Stewart was't bad also!
