So that means the nannies were on?

Holy crap, that is painful to watch, and listen to.

That it is, but it's hard to argue with the results. What's amazing is how the 4.0 doesn't seem bothered by his style. It doesn't lurch all over the place.

Maybe it's the electronic nannies smoothing things out?

I guess it's great to be fast with such a brutal "style" when you can just toss the car into the recycler after you are done.

He is paid to extract the max from the car. He is not paid to preserve machinery. Fun to watch.

Default Heel and Toe is for time wasters

I try practicing my heel and toe as much as I can on my 996 GT3. I find it a little harder on the 997 GT3 RS. From this video I guess I don't have to. Seriously I am a lot faster driving someone else's car especially if they are not sitting next to me. The 4.0 is just awesome but I feel bad for that particular one.

Maybe he is paid to do the opposite, test the limits of the machinery before it will break. Maybe he is the reason Porsche are putting pdk in everything. Hard for them to watch without considering warranty repair.

I rewatched it a few times.
I dont think he is abusing the tranny given the speed he is doing.
He does rev match many times perfectly but what he does in a few corners is he downshifts a little early and rpms climb a lot but he clearly wants to be in a lower gear for the launch and he makes the gear change when the car is able to make it given the speed he is going.

The light that comes on nearly every corner is the gear change rpm light - he is using every rpm - it almost looks like he chose the rear set for the 4.0 - at least the 3rd and 4th gear.

What I find interesting is how many corners that he uses the front tires to scrub speed into when he tosses it in there.

I had the pleasure to have Timo several times as instructor during drift trainings. The guy not only has fantastic car control but is also a great entertainer and a funny dude. Admittedly he has not the smoothest of styles but times don't lie. Interestingly also Alex Böhm, my best mate, 2 times overall winner VLN and 43 class victories does not heel and toe and never had any technical issues in all the years he had been competing.

I honestly don't get the point some people has problems with heel and toe ... not saying Timo, but drivers in general.

Porsche would not employ Timo as a test driver if he didnt know what he was doing. I bet many of the people commenting here couldn't keep him in sight including me.
