I agree with mooty...My engine mounts are 'semi solid' RSS so have some movement/absorbing qualities.

As mentioned the sound volume and 'feel' is increase by ~20%, I daily drive but wouldn't be without this mod but note, if TS are making it harder that may increase the sound/'feel', I was actual thinking of a softer mount but to be honest wouldn't change this one unless it failed!

Install was easy, once the car is up and the trays are of. On a ramp 30 mins tops, on your back 1.5hrs. No special tools. Two nuts uphill connecting the alloy body of the mount to the chassis floor, these are slotted, two bolts through the rubber mounts (sunken slightly) and two further bolts just below these. Note you will have to squeeze the coolant hoses slightly to remove the bolts (the hoses are protected with an outer sheath). With a jack under the gearbox and all bolts/nuts removed jack the gear box up slightly to remove the mount, replace then the reverse. loosely fit all bolts and nuts before tightening or you will struggle.

Good mod... Definitely, it was the one that made the gear shift perfect where all the others (Cup cables, Numeric Racing shifter, RSS engine mounts) made incremental improvements.

Daily drive suitable... personal tast/tolerance.

Couldn't those Porsche engineers make the trans mount the same way their magnetized hydraulic engine mounts work in the rear of our .2 RS cars?
"On" for the track
"Off" for the street.

Yep that would be a good(great?) idea but why they didn't fix this well know issue over the last 7 years of the 997's history I don't know. Having the ~350kgs float around the back effect the handling and gear change is mad!

Anyway I am happy with the results of this mod

The old TS and Tarett appear to just be a new factory mount with strategically and carefully applied Urethane (3M window weld?). I would be curious if these are in fact pressed in poly bushings with steel inserts or just glue added to the factory rubber insert.

I did this gearbox mount mod myself with 3M Window Weld to a new OEM mount last year before my last track event and it was pretty simple. Clean the rubber inserts properly and apply the 3M product making sure it goes from one side to the other as the factory rubber bushings have three openings surrounding the metal sleeve. I used a few drops of dish soap on my fingers to smooth out the Urethane after you fill the voids and your good to go. That 3M stuff is incredibly sticky, but dries pretty quick and in 24 hours was very solid. I didnt really take my time to make it look overly nice, but the results seemed to work well.

I like (and installed at the same time) the semi-solid WEVO motor mounts, and now with the gearbox reinforced mounts on my 6GT3 track car, it seems to helps a bit on the track with downshifts into second gear on slow corners.

I am most curious of the GMG bushings as they look very nice, and I may go this route for next season. Also curious to see what TS comes up with.

plus, as said before, when only one area is solid mounted and the other is not,puts high levels on stress on engine/trans. cases, mounts/hardware, and the chassis itself...
