Tire pressure needed MPSS cold track day
We have a track day this weekend at the Ridge Motorsports Park along with a break in the weather. The morning temps will probably be in the high 20's with afternoon temps in the 40's. On NEW MPSS what pressure should I run. I plan to adjust after getting the tires up to temp, so it will be slow going to start.

Take into consideration most figures on this forum are for 3,000-3,300lb GT3's. If you're on a GTS you'll want to go a couple psi's higher to account for the higher axle weights.

I did a search and there is a wealth of info on the subject. I was mostly concerned with the cold outside track temperature being a possible problem. Thanks all for the post....

Won't be an issue at all! I've run them in the rain and they come up to temp... If its not raining, you'll get psi increases of about 6-8+ psi even on a really cold day[... If cold but not raining, i'd start on 34-35 psi, Go out for 3-4 laps, get some temp into them and pop back to the pts to bleed down... Then re-bleed at the end of a couple more sessions and hot pressures will stabilise... U won't have any probs on MPSS

Just back from a great day at the track. Weather was cold 32 Deg. to start with mist and fog which turned to light rain later in the day. This is the Northwest after all. The Michelin Pilot Super Sports were just fantastic in these conditions. I ran cold 33f/37/r and warm temps got up to 39/43. The wear pattern on the tires was perfect. I just can't believe how well the tires stuck in these conditions.
