Wow, was the orange one sold into trade? Many nice 997.1 GT3's are going for more than that.
Was there any story, or was it just mileage?
no stories that i am aware of.

at least clean carfax that is all i know and the pictures of the car looked good but obviously pictures done tell the whole story.

dealer claimed it was checked out by a porsche dealership the other day and passed with flying colors.

if the car was local there is no doubt it would have been mine but a little more work being in las vegas plus i have a 993 that is still waiting to be shipped to me at this point.

also, i am confused at which one the OP or this pong guy is talking about.

i know there is a white on in las vegas for sale as well with high mileage. it was the lowest price one on autotrader but i did not think it was a RS. it is not on autotrader now...just looked.

this is true.
thus, people store the PCCB in their closet and buy steel to pound on at the track.

I wish i had another 20k to spend, but unfortunately my budget is in the low 80s. i was thinking of 78, as white is a rare color for an RS.

Just get the car checked by a good Porsche shop to confirm the above.

This white loaded RS was probably $150K new. Virgins are still going over $100K.
Yea, there aren't too many .1RS for sale and the ones out there seem very high to me. $110k for ones with 10-15k miles, but i guess thats just asking price so they'll probably be sitting on the lot for a while.

Today it sold for with 39K miles on it:

Sorry car sold today for $71,991.

Snooze you lose...I was willing to close the deal this morning for 72.5K contingent on PPI...guess I should have followed up my early morning email with a phone call.

All good...there will be another one available again.
WOW!!! thats a smoking deal...maybe i should reconsider offering 78k lol

The white RS I'm talking about is a local car. I know the owner and he's thinking about selling it so not advertised anywhere. Thought i'd get some expert opinions on price before i make an offer.

yes, i was talking to the original owner this morning via email regarding the orange rs...cost plus tax and add-ons was around 180K.

just amazing how it sold for 72K today...39K miles does not scare me as long as DME and leak down numbers were good and no paint work...then no doubt a steal.

is ping pong talking about the sm car as mflanigan...

They aren't selling for that. 10k+ mile cars are selling just shy of $100k.

Only the best ones are selling north of the six-figure mark.

If your budget is ~80k or thereabouts, why not buy a REALLY good GT3, instead of a bottom-feeder RS? Better to buy the best car your budget can handle than trying to score a steal on a tired one.

im a sucker for that wide rear end and the big wing. i don't mind as much the higher mileage, as long as its well maintained and documented with a clean ppi.

I hear you there.

I may have a line on a 30k mile car that's very nice. I'll let you know if it actually materializes.
