Thank you for the offer, but my current car is a twin to yours (mine has 16k miles). Good luck with the cup car.

Fully integrated Traqmate with roll bar camera. I am looking to get into a Cup Car and am looking to sell my RS. I have all paper work from build date through today. All sevice done at Porsce Dealers. Let me know of this is of interest to you and we can talk by phone.

GT silver looks great in person. Considering that as PTS on 991 GT3. I love black wheels on GT Silver, great contrast.

1. What happened to the motor? Who replaced it?
* Engine sucked a piece of plastic off the intake, detonated a cylinder. Porsche did under warranty last month.
2. Any paint or body work other than scratch on rear?
Previous owner (friend of mine) bumped wall at Watkins Glen, replaced front bumper cover.
* Painted over red on mirrors, wing plates and front grill opening.
3. Do you have the window sticker or build sheet (if not I can have local dealer run one if you provide VIN)?

4. Toe links alone or other monoballs as well?
* Just toe links.
5. Do you have oem wheels or do you plan to sell with BBS?
* Sold oem wheels because they were red. Will sell with BBS or Forgeline, both 18". I have access to set of silver/gold OEM RS wheels if you want.
6. OEM carbon sport buckets?
* Yes
7. oem exhaust parts available?
* Yes
8. Clearbra installed?
* No
9. Any price flexibility from $139 ask?
* No
10. Willing to sell now?
* Yes
Hi guys. Please excuse me for bumping this old thread. I'm in the market for a 997.2 RS and I was looking at this example at Porsche Delaware. Upon Googling the VIN, I found this old RL thread. Above, you can see GT3DE documented an engine rebuild and front bumper cover replacement (after bumping wall at Watkins Glen). So I'm trying to understand how Porsche Delaware can offer this car as CPO and how the CarFax appears to be clear of issues. Please see GT3DE's post above and then the following links:

I contacted Porsche Delaware but haven't heard back yet. Any thoughts or insights are greatly appreciated.

CPO means nothing.
ive bought cars CPO that were clearly repaired.

CPO is good for warranty only

CPO is only for warranty and condition of consumables, i.e. brakes and tires, there are no real standards on body work or other repairs. as long as it is good enough to sell, a dealer will sell it CPO. they usually catch-up the book-scheduled maintenance as well unless you are dealing with a total scumbag dealership.

having said that, easy finance, a valid 3+ year warranty, and the ability to trade-in your existing car on a deal and also maintain a relationship with the local dealer has value. it's not zero.

@TRAKCAR and @chiffonade - thank you. Just seems like a ton to miss in the history, both for the CPO and CarFax.

CPO simply means up to date on service and that it passes the checks on the CPO sheet. If they can do that, then they can CPO it. CPO can easily have paintwork, accidents, etc. It isn't showing up on Carfax since an accident on track would not be reported to insurance or would not have a police report. This is why documentation like this is so important and so is a comprehensive PPI.

Exactly! It’s no surprise that you see 10 year old cars that dealers own suddenly show up with CPO’s when it’s time to sell them. Labor is cheap to a dealer that wants to CPO a car.

I have reviewed all the ebay, autotrader, and cars.com listings but haven't found the right combo yet.

Not looking to steal one but has to be reasonably priced, e.g. no $130k+ cars.

Any and all leads appreciated.

Thanks, guys. I always thought the criteria for CPO were stricter than that. But I get it, CPO means nothing aside from the 2-year warranty. Thanks for the replies and info.
