Hey guys, it's me — had to change the handle, sorry 'bout that.
I was very, very glad to see that story in my final issue at Excellence. Lorraine and Eshel knocked it out of the park, and what happened in and around that 991 was as good as car stories get. Rick Bye is a hero of mine, and Aaron is no less inspiring. It's a piece that reminds us all how thankful we should be while simultaneously smiling at the joy of the human spirit. As good as any story I ran in my 15 years on 42 Digital Drive.
Jimmy, thanks for being the kind of reader who valued that. I think you may be surprised by what you'll find in Pano going forward...
996 GT3 remains one of my all-time favorite factory 911s, but the RS 4.0 finally did me in. It's not the engine in that car (though it is BRILLIANT), it's the chassis. Totally confidence inspiring, totally sharp, and totally involving. Money no object, I'd choose an RS 4.0 with sticker delete. Money an object, 6 GT3 is still my personal pick. Very curious to try 991 GT3...
Cheers!

Thank you Pete for all your wonderful work at Excellence. I am looking forward to a Panorama that dares to say that Porsches, as wonderful as they are, are not God's greatest gift to mankind...I'm sure others are too. Whoever decided to hire you is one smart individual....it speaks volumes for what Panorama could be.
