Smile My grey 2010 RS

I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself...

My name is Annand, I live in the South SF Bay area and I've had an FD RX-7 for about 6 years now. I've always loved 911s, especially GT2s and GT3s. I'm a tad bit on the younger side, but have tremendous respect for fast cars and don't worry I didn't finance this or go into debt to get this toy so it's not that terribly irresponsible..I've just been extremely lucky for the past few years in my career.

I picked up a 2010 Grey-Black GT3RS with white gold accents last Tuesday. The car had 990 miles, has the leather dash, PCCB, sport chrono and PCM no nav. The DME readout had something like 37 in range one and the car is CPO.

This is my first Porsche and I can't wait to get the thing out on track. I've tracked my 93 RX-7 all over the SF Bay Area the past 6 years I've had it and I'm really looking forward to the challenge of driving a 911 quickly. I've probably seen some of you RL'ers at events in the past as I usually run with TrackMasters...

I've already got the car to just over 2k miles (there was an 800 mile drive back from Scottsdale in there). For now I don't have any mods planned, but from reading up it seems that at some point I'll need a diff, and I'll probably have to get the coolant hoses pinned at that point as well. After a few events I'll probably swap the PCCBs out...any other obvious things I'm missing?

This forum has already been super useful to me and I hope to have something to contribute to the community going forward!

Congrats and welcome to the group. Beautiful car. Now, if you'd like a nice caring home for your CYM FD, I would be happy to adopt it But seriously, what a great combo. Two of my favorite all time cars.

Congratulations, nice choices! I parted ways with my RX7 a couple years ago when I got the GT3 and while I miss it the replacement has more then met my expectations.....

Go to Sharkwerks and get the coolant pipes fixed before going to the track. Safer for you and everyone else. Like the color, nice car!

I haven't heard of any 997.2 coolant pipe failures. Maybe it's because the cars aren't old enough; the glue is different; or maybe I just haven't heard about it - I don't know.

I welded the fittings on my 996, but I'm not even going to think about it for my 997.2 until it becomes a documented issue.

jenk12m, you know I'm a sucker for a grey RS.

BTW, watched you in yesterday's game. Thought you played pretty well.

Congrats on the purchase MirageJHU !! Looking forward to hearing your write up after your first track experience. I would also consider a Interior LED Lighting Kit if you haven't already. Enjoy and keep us posted. More pictures of this beauty too

Congrats! Awesome color. No one minds if you're on the younger side unless you are euro, in which case you will be called eurotrash on a daily basis.
