He is an ALMS driver for Ferrari. He earns his living on the track. It is just information and his opinion. You could drive non RS cars yourself GT2 and GT3 and come to an altogether different conclusion. Get what moves you; not what may hold its value better. Just an opinion.

Hi guys,

interesting discussion here...

First, I agree what has been mentioned about future values of both cars. 997 GT2 had most of its loss already..however I do not think that 997 GT3RS will go much down either..the new 991 GT3 will be considerably more expensive..and the 991 GT3 RS is still at least 2 years away. Most owners I know will wait how the 991 GT3 will react on the tarck.

Coming back to the subject - I disagree that a GT2 is not for track - in fact I think both cars are very similar..all made for track. The Gt2 is more difficult to drive...but a 3.8RS has no chance against it. If you then start setting up suspention etc of the GT2...than its game over anyway. I know these are harsh words..but I can tell you that the difference between a 997 GT3 3.6 and 997 GT2 is huge..drive both cars and you will see..
