Default Electric Winch Recommendation

Seems I never do anything without Rennlister's input! Any thoughts on electric winch recommendations and easiest hook-up would be much appreciated. I am thinking of installing one on my Trailex this winter. Car is 997.2 GT3 non-RS. Thanks in advance.

ROFLMAO is SuperWench the new nickname for Carrie.

Whatever you get make sure the remote cable is long enough to reach the end of the loading ramps + so you can load by yourself. Or go Baller any get a wireless remote.

Anyone using a Warn 370? Looks good and has an optional wireless remote. Also, do I use a deep-cycle battery for this, or can I just use a regular car battery and keep a battery tender on it?

How funny is that? Even worse is me not catching that, then making a mistake upon mistake by doing a search for "SuperWrench!?" Surprised I didn't end up finding a centerlock tool !

Warn's are good. You don't need that big of a battery but if you don't charge it often then a marine deep cycle is a good option. I don't worry on my open trailer as I have looong jumper cables or you can just use a boost box.

Warn/Superwinch -- either are good
deep cycle battery because good for winching

for realtively light duty they see in a car trailer with a street clutch... either will be fine.

I've had a winch for 5 years. Never used it. Just sayin. Seems the gt3 won't break and if so there are plenty of people around to push it in..

I've seen the remote key fob on the center console of the Dodge.. Can it be that hard?

BTW what beer am I bringing to Sebring?
I'm quantity over quality but you are picky and We're hosting Stephen, you will be making is both lattes. Stephen is ready.. The only west coaster to come drive Sebring and than come back to challenge us... I'm leaving my traqmate in his car to get him out of the coffee cup with rads approval..

I wonder when Mooty, DRL, Chromium 24, savy, etc. etc...are picking up the gauntlet

Warn is the only US made brand, and even then....

Superwinch, Ramsey, et al are chinese. If you are going to go chinese, just go to Harbor Freight and get the 3000# for $169 or 5000# for $199. Like was posted above, you aren't likely to need it but once or twice. I have a hand winch on my rally car trailer and have used it once.

I've been using the Warn 3700 for the last 6 years. Works great. Winch onto trailer every event because RS only has 1/2" clearance on both sides of my trailer. Screw getting a deep cycle battery. I've got this:

http://www.warn.com/truck/mounting-s...nect_kit.shtml

It provides quick connect to power from your vehicle, so never need to worry about winch battery being dead.
