The fast track car to have will be the GTR beating 991 TTS PDK with the rest of the alphabet..
The fun one could be very well the 997 GT3

I'm a little surprise that the mustang, camaro and c63 all have faster track time than c2s.

of curse it will be fast, it has to be.... but be maybe 10%? However, early adopters always play a huge factor on R&D. I would not touch the first gen until the 2nd year. did you guys see the flying lizard announcement for 2013? What it really means is that Porsche is behind with R&D on the new RSR for 2014 and they need all the resources now! Bad planning by management for sure...

Flying Lizard Statement on Porsche 911 GT3 RSR Transition Announcement

October 26, 2012 – Sonoma, CA – Seth Neiman, Flying Lizard team principal said: "I and the entire Flying Lizard family would like to thank Porsche for their support and partnership over the last nine years. Together we have worked hard and have learned to rely on each other in critical moments, of which there have been many throughout our 100 races and multiple GT championships. Joerg Bergmeister, Patrick Long, Hartmut Kristen, Jens Walther, Uwe Brettel, Alwin Springer, Roland Kussmaul, Hans-Georg Breuer and many others at Porsche get our special thanks, along with the numerous Porsche employees and affiliates in Germany, Atlanta and Southern California who have been an integral part of our team, and with whom we have become close friends. Flying Lizard remains committed to sports car racing, and we look forward to announcing details of our 2013 racing program later this year."

There won't be a customer 991RSR til 2014, so what's a team principal to do?

Do you think the Nissan GTR is faster on track than the 997 TurboS now? I don't think a 991 TurboS if they do one will be around for many years down the road. When the 997 was introduced it took 6 years for the TurboS to show up.

A Z06 is quicker around Laguna than the GTR.

Respectfully disagree. I heard the same warnings when I bought my '09 997.2 with it's first gen DI 9A1 engine and PDK gearbox, and it's been bulletproof. Plus, the basic drivetrain items have now had 4 additional years of development before presumably being included, in some form, in the coming 991 GT3. Even the 991 chassis will have been around for a couple of years by the time the GT3 debuts. The car will be an evolution of the current GT3 and 991; it's not like it will employ completely untried technology. I don't really see what there is to worry about.
