Long overdue update with good reason
Car was undergoing displacement increase surgery and it took longer than expected... With that said, while under the knife my CMS shifter replaced by the CAE shifter I bought from Adam a while back

I spent half of Monday and all of Tuesday at the track with the CAE shifter.

My thoughts:
I will be selling my CMS shifter locally
The CAE IMHO is far and away superior for my needs
I believe it to be as close to "sequential" feeling as one can get in an H pattern shifter

I have ss wevo engine mounts, torque solution trans mount bushings, and cup cables.

For some it may be a little "over the top" in the way it looks or that it transmits a bit more noise into the cabin but neither of any concern to me.

I am thoroughly pleased

Good to hear, I was wondering what you thought.

I feel exactly the same way about this being the closest thing to a sequential possible with ah H-pattern.

Over the winter I was thinking that I might go back to my cup shifter at some point, just because my tech had said something along the lines of "there's nothing wrong with the cup shifter", "if it was so good, don't you think that Porsche would have done it", and "everybody that installs a short shifter eventually does a money shift", and these words stayed with me during our long winter.

It didn't take long, during my first session of the season I knew I was keeping the CAE, it's just so good.

If I ever get a cup, this is one mod that I will take with me.

PJ,

Did the carbon trim piece also come with the shifter?

No
I think the previously pictured carbon trim piece was made by the owner

I would buy one if he made some more (hint hint)

Let's just say at our most recent Porsche Train event at ORP, PJ was gone... the new shifter is just part of the latest round of insanity.

As far as the shifter goes, it actually looks fine and the pictures make it look worse in terms of being unfinished. The included return spring is a very nice feature as well. Black is worth the extra $$$ too.
