I have. Don't bother. If it was imported at any stage by an OEM, there is a no compete clause, meaning its not allowed. You can bring it in, but its gotta go again at some point or get crushed. Stupid I know. There is a grandfather dad whereby the law doesn't apply, but I believe its sometime in the mid 80's, so not relevant to modern cars.

Trucks are perfect to import, Porsche's not so much.

Floridas 6% sales tax is not bad, but Montana plates are sales tax free.

The usage limits (years and miles) allow for relatively modern vehicles to accompany the owner to return with their vehicle. There's a limit on the number of vehicles, mileage and age -- it's a scale -- but there are available ways through which, well, it can be done, but as they say, it would be easier for a camel's hair to pass through the eye of a needle than a Porsche driver to pass into the kingdom of heaven (assuming your definition of "heaven" is a pristine, white beach and crystal clear blue ocean with pearler sets like clockwork on the Bommie...)

Moot -- between your day job (delivering track tires) to make enough scratch for your pickup lease payments, and your 20K post habit at Rennlist, you can't afford the time or the money to buy more track bling. Sell me your street cruiser 4.0 and stick to your 3.8 ... come on man, see reason! I sold you my cherry 996 GT3 ... time to owe a brother!

(yes, I have no idea what that means ...)
