Runoff areas that allow you to probe the limits with generally low consequence factor. Commonly at every event at Laguna, Sears, or Thunderhill cars go home crashed on the flatbed. I've seen it one time in three years at Reno-Fernley and that was 100% avoidable (driver red-misted and over cooked corner after a pass). Don't forget, if you do want to insure your car, the Trackrat event (all run groups) is approved by Lockton Affinity and listed on their website (two/three days coverage cost same as one!).
By any reasonable prediction- drivers will be crawling on hands and knees into their bed at night from exhaustion. The truly courageous, those registered for all three days, will have had one of the great learning experiences of their high-performance driving career and will know their car like never before. Registrants are challenged to come back and call me out for hyperbole on this prediction.
The drivers meeting will set clear expectations of respect and cooperation for both slower and faster drivers.
An incredible opportunity for fun and challenge unlike anywhere else on the west coast. Remember, there is no cafe, no wifi and the bathrooms are Portapotties. This is all about the driver and the track. Oh, and the catered gourmet lunch

Saturday may actually book up and require waitlisting so registration *now* is good. Two and three day registrations offer a savings.

US-95 is a straight shot north from Vegas and while mostly two lane is easy to keep a fast pace. It's wide-open high desert and a whole lot of nothing interspersed with some two stoplight towns.
US 395 is a straight shot to RFR from S. CA. Much of it is four lane and it is a very scenic drive right along the eastern side of the Sierras. You can just drink in the view and it is an easy days drive to RFR. Heck overnight in Mammoth! The Westin there is superb and has a great in-house restaurant.
Choice is good and there is some food for thought. Doug is a social guy and he'd be a great caravan partner

Getting excited, can't wait. Couldn't talk anyone else from Bay Area into going, they're loss.
Leaving Napa mid morning Thursday w/ trailer if anyone needs some wheels shuttled up.
