Dunlop entering R-comp tyre market with Sport Maxx Race...
Fyi guys....
Maybe soon we'll have another r-comp option and they are available in Gt3 + RS sizes... Who knows, they may shock us and perform without the hefty Michelin & Pirelli prices....

Going to look into them.... Not much spec info available on the net just yet, just starting to filter through to stockists now...

I used to really like Dunlop's old Super sport track tires they made back in the day, they were always pretty comparable to an RA-1 in performance and they were dirt cheap. Hopefully this new tire is a great alternative for those of us who drive to and from the track.

They will probably screw up and make them in 19" sizes only. Yep I'm in that kind of mood today! ....LOL

I like how they cut away before the R8 was dumped in the grass...
The tire looks to be more of a regular tread pattern not alot of surface contact as compared to a Nitto NT01 or Toyo.. Perhaps a competitor for the Michelin Super Sports although the SS are not RComp. You can hardly beat the Price and Longevity of the SS.

I just don't understand the MPSC N-Spec....it's no where near s good as a Toyo R888 in terms of wet or dry grip or wear...and the R888 is the official Rennlist most hated tire....although I like them for what they are and they work good for my purpose of a R-Comp drive to the track and have fun tire.

Haven't tried the r888 mdrums so I personally can't comment but the MPSCs have been disappointing from the point of view of how quickly they cycle out and become greasy at temp... For a $3.6k set of tyres here, whilst good initially, they are less than exciting IMO ...
I will add that its exciting that Dunlop are giving it a go and entering the market... Its a shame that others with great products like Nitto and Toyo with their RA1 or R1R etc etc aren't stepping up with sizing and catering for this market....

Granted they are not road course cars but if an individual can drop $120K plus for an UGR TTG with > 1200 WHP, they can afford any tire, right?
Noticed just about all the UGR and Heffner TTG's run R888's.
This could be "apples & oranges" but just saying.

Its funny how different people like different tyres, i really like mpsc have tried r888 and thought cups where better. My car stays at the Nring and 2months ago i got two new rear tyres, the people who serviced it where Pro sport in Adenau who are Pirelli agents when i asked should i try Pirelle trofeo's the owner said "no stick with the cups their better". Think its just down to personal preference.
