I know we have NEVER discussed this here
Anyone here tried 345 on 19 ? how does it fit?
I am thinking of going to 19 on the RS...don't ask.

Confirming I run the 19" R6 and shipped the 345 and 265 to a professional ALMS Porsche team. They mentioned they could make these work but it would compromise the ultimate set up. They suggested the 325 rears 235 fronts and they still had to roll the rear fenders.

The 265 and 235 Hoosier in 19" have the same width, one is just taller than the other. They are actually 245 tires (both of them).
The 345x19 is actually the same width as the 335x18. I ran 345x19 in my 07RS, but rolled the rear fenders and removed the 5mm spacer. On the 997.2 GT3 RS, the 345x19 needs a wheel with a 1/2" higher offset and it fits, otherwise it would require fender rolling and fender pulling, too much work.
The 315/30R19 and 325/30R19 have the same width, but one is taller than the other.
People rubbing 235 Hoosiers are just using way too many camber shims.

I had 235 and 315 on my I RS mounted on 19...ran well with no issues, I am going to try the same on the II RS and see how that feels. I don't want to roll fenders

I run on 19x9.5 and 19x12 (no spacers in the rear) and use Michelin Super Sport 265/30-19 and 345/30-19 respectively. I can be done but I wouldn't with the OEM wheels.

For the track, what's the point? With the R6 you can run 255 (which is actually a 275) and 335 or 345 on 18". Nobody needs more tire width than that. Grip, sure, you can always use more grip, but size wise, it's perfect and works without any issues if you are running R6.
I've been in RS's with this setup, and compared to my puny 245/305 Nitto setup (which I love), the grip is literally retarded, and is virtually identical from a balance perspective, i.e. no understeer.

Yes, the R6 in 255/335 is better than the NT01/RA1... but the Pirelli slicks I am now using are better than the R6 by more than the R6 is better than the NT01/RA1. They make me feel like a superhero.
FWIW this thread is a few years old.

Exactly my point, if you want more grip than 255/335.....use a stickier tire, don't just keep trying to go wider with the same compound.
