But, we believe the root cause to be the total number of hours on the axle. Black axles can only take about 50 hours of serious track time....these had more. Agree on the maintenance cycle.
Time to change out my rear axles at end of year. I seen it done once and look simple enough. Remove retaining ring and loosen the main bearing bolt then out it comes. I think the turbo black axle is not too expensive ... $1.5K each?

It's not your imagination. They were out to get you that weekend .... the track event was sponsored by Carlsen

It like the James Bond track day series, what things can fly off your car to impede your fellow drivers. =)

What's funny (not so funny for mooty) is that PCA allow the guy with the blown windshield to go out again on the same day after a windshield-O-matic guy replace the blown out piece in the paddock .... and he went back out again with blue tapes on the freshly install glass. We all know what happened to the replacement windshield. My question is will insurance cover for two glass replacement on the same day?

LMAO.
carlsen sponsored.
the wind shield didn't take me, the same car had a wheel hub like round thing flying toward me after i ducked for the windshield. at first, i thought i was dreaming or i needed new glasses.... not often windshields coming at you doing 130+ down front straight.....

then jussi's black donuts... luckily i didn't see it. else i may have had heart attack.....

then my battle with my AC hydrauilic jack and a flying 2x4 that took out my sideskirt....

it was fun though...
