During the PCA weekend a month or 2 ago I got black flagged for sound in my stock 2011 GT3 Cup. Clear and sunny day.. they were running the track CW though so maybe that effected it. However, I had passed a Spec Boxster near the sound booth the lap before so I'm 99% sure they just made a mistake.. but they wouldn't let me back out unless I "did something" to the car. So I just packed it up and went home.

Did they tell you your db? When they black flag me for sound my reading were 103.8 - 104 db. Same thing happen to me once. I was running the whole day at TH without sound issue and when I came up on two other cars nose to tail they black flag me. They told me to do something to the car to fix the problem. I came in to pit, took a **** and went back out again ... problem fixed

Nice! When I read that, I hear Kimi's (Lotus F1 driver) voice.

Hahaaa!! Ya, they told me it was 105, which is crazy.. cause I've never had a problem there before and didn't the previous day. I don't think the sharpest tools in the shed work the sound meter.

Your guys' lap times are getting really quick in street cars... time for roll-cage and slicks?! I'm going to take my EVT700 911 Turbo out there before the end of the year and see what kind of lap time I can run on street tires before I sell it. I think I did a 1:55 or 1:54 in the Z06 2 years ago. My best w/ the Cup is 1:47.5 over the cyclone (Michelin) and 1:45.6 over the bypass (Yokohama).

Mike, your lap time is the gold standard among us mortal track rats! My best time so far in the Cup is 1:56 over the top and that's with 30+ heat cycled Michelin slicks. My best time in the Z06 is 1:56 T5 bypass and that's when my Z06 pop the Pfadt sway's retaining ring and shoved the sway to one side and bend the connecting rods .... and sudden massive understeer over T1

Just put in Ohlins two ways and removed rubber bushings in Z06 and repalced with Pfadt solid sphericals. Still in the test N tune process and I am aiming squarely at 1:50 with my Z06 soon.

You should serious considering coming to the high desert shoot out next month at Reno fernley: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...n-is-open.html

bring your Turbo ... or heck bring your 458 challenge and the Cup. It will give us a chance to chase you down for at least one lap before you figure everything out and dissapear into the distance
