PPI if still under warranty ?
Hi all, looking into a 997.2 GT3 that is still under warranty. Coming from my 993TT i would never had considered anything less than a full PPI, but the GT3 ive been looking at has over 36 months left on its warranty, and the dealer had to go through the car in detail prior to certification. Has anyone here had a 993tt? id love your thoughts on your transition. do you miss the TT?
Mine looks like its going to be totaled due to an engine fire https://rennlist.com/forums/993-turb...-in-shock.html
Anyone thinking of selling?
rarely tracked, +/- 10k miles, flexible on options, but thinking about the Meteor Grey, Aqua Blue, or GT Silver... in no particular order.

On a $100k purchase I would always do a PPI. CPOor warranty doesn't cover abuse, paintwork or overrevs. To me, it's a combination of due diligence and cheap insurance. Don't rush. Wait for the right car. Best of luck!

Never a bad idea to get a PPI, especially if from a private seller. At very least get ECU dump and make sure CL recall has been performed.
I have never owned a 993tt but have driven them. Although the 993tt is a spectacular car, you will be amazed how far things have come when you get into a GT3. Sorry to hear about the engine fire.
Haven't see too many 7.2 GT3's in any of those colors so be prepared to hunt for a while. Seems like most of them are white, black, red. Good luck in your search!

Thanks for the replies. Looking forward to my test drive this weekend. I'm hoping the GT3 is more or at least as engaging as my TT with the comforts of my 08 c2. Just out of curiosity, will I need a leakdown/compression tests as well? I may need a rennfax in Pennsylvania if anyone is up for it?

yes absolutely - even if purchasing from the dealer. You want the DME history and what not.

YES, emphatically yes.
Just as you want the previous owner to pay for repairs or discount accordingly, you want to know what's wrong. A good PPI should look at everything, from electronic records and ECU dump to whether the brakes and tires are still good and, especially, whether there's been body damage or repainting of any kind...
