Default OT -- ALMS and Grand-Am

Apparently, ALMS and Grand-Am are set to merge. I was watching Wind Tunnel last night, and the big announcement will be made on Wednesday. Wow!! Sounds as if Grand-Am may be acquiring ALMS, but that is just speculation. Anyone have further details?

Agree, not good news unless you enjoy spec racing. Can't imagine Grand Am will want ACO rules for cars.

Sounds like Panoz is ready to get out of the game and collect a buyout check. We can only hope that it's not the France family trying to end ALMS and rather create the "perfect" road racing series with the best cars and best competition. Right now the fields can be very thin in BOTH series depending on what class you follow and what track they go to. Heck TRG has basically had enough of GA. We typically onle see TRG when a gentleman racer wants to run. If done right, it could be a great series.

We'll see in 2014

Sounds like the only option to see top level sports car racing will now be to attend a WEC event. Hope the ACO/FIA increases the number of events in the States.
