Default Tracking Old Tires

Guys

I purchased a 2007 GT3RS with Michelin Sport Cup Tires. Rear tires just hit the wear indicators. (I believe they are original.) Are these 5 year old tires safe to track?

Thanks

Mark

No they are not. MPSC are a track compound and they heat cycle with street use. Even standard street tires, I don't keep them for more than 3 years regardless of visual conditions, the cost of a spin or blowout on track or street is too high, and tires are cheap.

5 years is way too old. Even using "new" tyres of 5 years old aren't a good idea, let alone used tyres.

i still have that pair of 335 for sale, no one wants them. and they are 2007 imho, not 2006. if you shave them they will not be hard.
probably will be forced to use them if no one will take them.
