GT3 pricing
I am purchasing a GT3 soon. I want a 997.1 and as of now they're priced from 70k-100k from what I've seen. I know when the 991 gt3 is released, the price will reduce on the 997.1. The point of this thread I was wondering how much do you guys think the 997.1 will drop down to? Not looking for a RS just a regular gt3. So yeah any information would be great. Thanks guys.

I think the drop will depend in whether a manual tranny option will be available for the 991gt3 as well as the out the door pricing. I think the price bump for a nicely equipped 991S helped keep 997.2 prices higher than iit otherwise might have been.
Btw I bought a 997.1 GT3 last week in the range you mentioned with less than 11000 miles. Clean PPI.

Can we ban these "crystal ball" threads? Or start a separate forum for them? Jeesh, it is like 5 times a week now someone is asking the same question over and over and over. Just buy the freakin car already! Nobody knows what pricing will be. Life is full of risks, take one?

realistically, factory warranty expires on almost every 2007 Porsche in 2013 which has an effect on resale.
But one only needs to look at where the 996GT3 is priced today to predict where the 997.1GT3 will be tommorow after warranty runs dry and the 2013 991GT3 is launched.
If they are as low as 60-70k today, safe to say as low as 50-60k in 2013.

I've been tracking these cars for a long time and if you've got $80,000 for an 07-08 GT3 you'll have success buying a good one.
The RS's should be had around $100K but every car and owner is unique. You could pay more for a higher spec car or one with fewer miles and you could pay less for one with a story. If someone told me they wanted a 997.1 GT3 I'd tell them to budget for $80k and if they found a good car for less that they got a good deal.
The only 997.1's I've seen in the 60 range are ones that have had major collisions or have huge mileage (Like 60k) If the price seems too good to be true it probably is. I think the GT3's are a solid investment and if you buy the right one you'll take a much smaller hit in depreciation.

Thanks for your response BH Porsche. For some people that are really searching for some help on what direction they might take in regards to buying a car your input is most welcome. It's unfortunate that some of us poor souls out here cannot adhere to all Rennlist "to do's" like so many of the long term
Rennlisters do. Maybe someday we can all be just like them so that then we can fit in to the way Rennlisters are suppose to act.

Dealers tend to ask upwards of 10k over the private sales found on rennlist.
