Get the GT3 drive it on the street and enjoy the car!
When I first bought mine back in Feb. of this year I daily drove mine for about a month to and from work. Mine will see track duty very soon as my work schedule should give me some more free time soon.

Your 63, not dead. Buy it, drive it and enjoy it. They are fun cars and few have the sweet exhaust note that the GT3 exhibits. Do a mild alignment and take it to the track a couple of times per year...really don't need anything else. You won't regret it.

I agree, 70 in 10 days and I live by the motto
"Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional"
Buy the GT3 but keep the Carrera as noted by the inclosed image. About to quit tracking because of disc issues in the neck and lower back BUT will not sell the SC

Also really love your motto. Reminds of an airborne motto somewhat:
"jumping out airplanes is optional but landing is mandatory"

[EDIT] - No longer available, as it turns out my friend with the GT3 and I are swapping cars + some cash on my end. He also has a really nice 914-6 so he will end up with a couple of nice vintage toys.
BTW, he is a couple years older than I am; We old guys still know to have fun too!

Not to turn this thread into a for sale ad, but since you asked, $30K is my very best price. My brother and I have over $45K invested.
It was a super clean car to start with. Here it is prior to the widebody conversion - that's the original paint.
PM me with your e-mail address if you are interested and I'll send you a spec sheet with a full description.

I have a 4.0 RS after having a 997.1 GT3 and a 997.2 RS. It is the perfect weekend get my ya ya's out car for me. Haven't tracked anything yet(yes I know I am missing out). But love tight, raw connected cars. I don't like a soft feel and don't think I ever will! Could drive it daily on So Cal and be perfectly happy also.

I have no idea why everyone doesn't drive this way - oops, I forgot, they'd be dead or they would total their car.

I have a 2011 GT3. The car has about 13,750 miles on it and the vast majority of those miles are all street. When I bought the car I had exactly the same mind set as you. I'm 58, my name is NOT Patrick Long so there is NO way I am going to drive this car to it's "potential". But I did not want the "normal" 911 out there. (no problem with a normal 911). I wanted a 911 that had an edge to it. If I wanted something ***** out then I would have gotten a cup car. But instead the GT3 is a street car that (to me) is more alive. It talks back to me that much more. That "feeling" is why I bought the car. I want that feeling all the time. Not just on a track but on the street too even if I am doing only 45 mph. And I DO get the feeling. If that means that I am "wasting" the car then to flipping bad. All I know is that when I drive this car it makes me smile. To me, that's the only test it needs to pass, for me.
For what it's worth (not much) I say buy it and you will never regret it.
